Did what it was supposed to do.Original part that came with the range lasted ~10yrs, the first replacement (OEM part) lasted ~5yrs.This is the 2nd replacement for the ignitor for our range - same OEM part. The part received is exactly the same as the failed one (which was exactly the same as the original). Hopefully this will also last ~5years, preferably much longer, but time will tell. But easy replacement: Unplug range, open the bottom cover in the oven, unscrew the two torx screws, disconnect the two connectors in the bottom of the oven from the back, then reverse the process.I considered the much cheaper alternatives, but don't want to deal with the headaches if they fail a few months later. Even though it's easy to replace, not having to squeeze in the back of the oven and making sure I don't stress the gas line is worth the extra cost.This is a high quality part and fixed the issue I was having with my Bosch oven intermittently failing to reach the set temperature. It was packed well in bubble wrap and two boxes. This is important because these igniters are fragile and prone to cracking if subjected to impact.If you are not sure if the igniter is your problem, follow these steps:1. Disconnect the power from the oven.2. Remove the back cover of the oven.3. Disconnect the igniter terminals.4. Check the resistance with a multi-meter on the ohms setting.It should read approximately 70 ohms. If it is a lot higher you need to replace it. The one I replaced was still glowing but not getting hot enough to light the burner. It read close to 300 ohms.My oven was taking 20-25 minutes to heat up. I watched a video on how easy it was to replace. Now 7 minutes to preheat and it’s at temperature.This is the second time I have replaced this over the last 3 years. The original one lasted about 10 years, the first replacement, only 3. We will see how well this one does.Just a couple screws from inside the oven and that's all you need to take apart. I originally took the whole back off before realizing the wires just feed out the back to the connectors without removing anything off the back. A pro now.We bought the less expensive universal one first only to return it bc it has to be spliced to fit. The Bosch one was easy to slide on, 2 minutes or less. Works great. Saved me $139 for a guy yo come in then labor and parts on top of that.
