Worked Great, I was having intermittent issues with my 2006 bmw e60 n52 engine not starting. Then It failed to start all together. I have dealt with random electrical problems with this car over the years, so this wasn't my go to solution. With all the cars I have restored and worked on; I thought it would be ridiculous for a modern car to have a starter failure. I spent about an hour or two diagnosing and it was indeed a starter failure. On the N52 you will spend about 3 hours to do the job. This starter does not come with the one-time use aluminum stretch bolts(2). You will need to go to BMW to get these otherwise you risk snapping a bolt off when proper torque is applied. (note there is no way to get a non-specialized torque wrench on the upper long bolt due to the angle) This job requires you remove the Fuel rail, and Intake manifold. Word of caution: If you have never replaced the oil separator hoses on the back of the engine you are likely end up shattering the hoses upon disconnection (if they aren't gone already). I replaced mine previously (valve cover gasket replacement) with new so they come off without trouble. Also make sure to clean off the intake manifold gaskets before reapplying. Although BMW says to replace these, if they come off intact and are not brittle; a quick wipe-down with solvent, then re-seat with high dow high vacuum silicone grease will save you the unnecessary cost. Watch out if you take this to a shop, this shouldn't take more than 2 labor hours (bmw experienced), also make sure the oil separator hoses are intact when you get the car back.
